چکیده

Medium-chain-length polyhydroxyalkanoates (mcl-PHAs), polyesters produced by bacterial fermentation of sugars and/or lipids, are potential bioplastic alternatives to petroleum-derived plastics. Lignocellulose is an abundant renewable source for fermentation. However, chemical or enzymatic release the requires a pretreatment step dispel rigid structure lignocellulose and enhance sugar access. Most pretreatments involve high temperature pressure, which increases processing production costs discourages commercialization. Here we demonstrate chemical-biological pathway mcl-PHAs from rice straw hemp hurd. We combined ambient alkaline pretreatment, hydrolysis, The reduced particle size pretreated solids partially fractionated hemicellulose lignin; these effects increased cellulose accessibility enzymes enabled (78–83% glucose yield) at solid loading (9 wt%). Therefore, obtained 47 wt% 69 (with respect gram dry cell weight) hurd, respectively. These findings constitute energy-efficient process that can be extended other sources lignocellulose, such as woody biomass dedicated bioenergy crops. Moreover, provide revenue agricultural sector, mitigate global warming fossil fuel processing, potentially reduce plastic pollution.

Ecological and agricultural significance of bacterial polyhydroxyalkanoates.

Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are a group of carbon andenergy storage compounds that are accumulated during suboptimal growth by many bacteria, and intracellularly deposited in the form of inclusion bodies. Accumulation of PHAs is thought to be used by bacteria to increase survival and stress tolerance in changing environments, and in competitive settings where carbon and energy sources may be l...

Production of Polyhydroxyalkanoates, a bacterial biodegradable polymer

There has been considerable interest in the development and production of biodegradable polymer to solve the current problem of pollution caused by the continuous use of synthetic polymer of petroleum origin. Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are known to be accumulated as intracellular inclusion in some bacteria. The materials properties exhibited by PHAs, ranging from stiff, brittle to rubber-like...

High-risk biodegradable waste processing by alkaline hydrolysis.

Biodegradable waste is by definition degraded by other living organisms. Every day, meat industry produces large amounts of a specific type of biodegradable waste called slaughterhouse waste. Traditionally in Europe, this waste is recycled in rendering plants which produce meat and bone meal and fat. However, feeding animals with meat and bone meal has been banned since the outbreaks of bovine ...

Production of Bacterial - Xylanolytic Enzyme using Agricultural Waste by Solid State Fermentation

Xylanases (E.C.3.2.1.8) are key enzymes, which play an important role in the breakdown of xylan. Wheat bran and corn cob are a rich source of xylan (28%) and xylose (23%). Therefore these are attractive substrates for production of xylanase & ßxylosidase enzyme. Xylan, a major component of hemicelluloses, is a heterogeneous polysaccharides consisting of ß-1, 4 linked to D-xylosyl residues on th...

Turning waste to wealth-biodegradable plastics polyhydroxyalkanoates from palm oil mill effluent – a Malaysian perspective

Palm oil industries have been contributing significantly towards the country’s economy and increase standard of living among Malaysians. However, it has also been identified as the major contributor for discharging the largest pollution load throughout the country. Owing to high biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and chemical oxygen demand (COD), the palm oil mill effluent (POME) cannot be dischar...
